Funding should be redirected toward making police officers more reliable, they should receive social work training to make them more reliable in the field, and also making school resource officers for all school districts become a welcomed sight for children in school so the police can earn their place of respect again.

No, the funding should not be changed but instead redirected to teaching police how to deal with issues non violently and don't give an officer availability to a gun unless they pass certain training for non-violence and only using the gun in life or death circumstances. The sentences and action taken against officers who kill innocents without reason should become very extreme to discourage these types of actions.

We must reallocate that money towards social and community services that actually have de-escalation training and don't carry a weapon. You could also put more money into the police system in order to give proper training to police officers, but I think the first is best. ACAB

I think that people should be able to get mental health services from qualified people, rather than have to self medicate because they have mental health issues and cant get help. ITs like chasing your tale. If you don't help the people with mental health challenges they would probably be less likely to have to self medicate and cause less problems in the streets. Which would most likely would make it to where we need less cops. How many of the millions of people that are homeless son the streets could benefit from mental health help and cannot get it.
